Preparing to sell a house took a lot of work. Brian worked tirelessly cleaning up the backyard, shoring up a retaining wall and packing up our house room by room. Iris and I were a bit in denial until the "green light" and job offer for Brian finally came in mid-July. Then, we scrambled to pack up the whole house and mange to take a family trip with relatives in Santa Barbara. Before we left our home on Eastwood, it looked clean and empty. The week of August 13th was a busy one for us. Final goodbyes and packing our things. Brian stayed the last night to do final cleaning of rooms. The garage and some rooms were full of boxes. Beds were disassembled. It was so strange to see our house empty.

Friends Lorri & Mike, Jenn B. stopped by with food and drinks because our kitchen stuff was packed up. The temperature was hot that week. Brian got a bit of heatstroke by the evening before we started driving to CO. This was a house with "good bones" and we will cherish our years living there. A few friends (Tara P and Linda G.) took foods and pantry items that we couldn't take with us. I thank God for the prayers and love that helped us complete this task.

After some repairs, the stagers came in to get the house the best it could be for sale. The house looked the best ever with the special touches. It definitely helped to make the house look home-y.
It took about a week after the first open house to receive a genuine offer. Our realtor and friend Michelle K. did a wonderful job keeping us on track and pricing just right to sell quickly and cleanly. We still miss the nicely remodeled kitchen/dining area, as well as our neighborhood. Well, onto the next thing...looking for a house in Louisville, CO.
