We spent two nights in the cool shade of redwood trees in Gualala. Iris did great on her first campout in our new tent. The weekend was great fun, thanks to joining with three other families with children close to Iris's age-8 adults and 7 children. Iris walked a long way to the beach, where she had fun playing house. We took turns kayaking because one family brought two kayaks to row along the river.

It was windy by the coast, but Iris was determined to build her house.

We were all truly blessed by God's creation, covering of grace, and fellowship of friends, young and old. I thought often of Psalm 104:4-5
How many are your works, Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
